Romance on the Orient Express

Subscribe to NoFlyZone
Thought trains were romantic enough already? For Valentine’s amorous perfection you still can’t beat the legendary Orient Express.  Although for a price tag of £1500 per person for a two and a half day trip, you’d certainly be hoping they’re not just trading on their name.
Clad in the colours of  a latter-day bell-hop the heavy carriages continue to ply classic journeys through Europe and beyond. Destinations extend to Asia and even South America, but the most iconic route is still London to Venice, which for Europeans  comes with the advantage of leaving directly from the UK.
Customers are quite simply cocooned in the kind of unimaginable decadence of a bygone era, complete with fines wines on tap, sumptuous meals, opulent decor and a level of service not seen this side of the 1930s. This combined, of course, with the most stunning cities of Europe forming the perfect cultural backdrop as you indulge in fine dining heaven or a scintillating cocktail hour.
The journey departs mid-morning from London with brunch and a Bellini, passing over the channel and into France as a four course dinner is served. Guests awake the following morning to breakfast in bed, and the Swiss Alps at the window. A three-course lunch is enjoyed passing through Austria, and into the stunning Dolomite mountains, through lovely Verona and finally into Venice, Italy’s most romantic city.
Guests can also choose to extend their trip to Rome, and all trips can also be purchased on a return basis as well as one way.
Depending on your budget and schedule this could either be an unforgettable honeymoon, or the perfect start to a longer trip, but either choice will leave couples with memories to last them a lifetime.
